CEBU CITY, Cebu, August 20 (PIA) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Cebu recently turned over a four-wheeled drive 35 horsepower farm tractor to Anopog Mountain Spring Farmers Association Inc. (AMSFA).
This program is a DAR-assisted Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) in Brgy. Anopog, Pinamungajan, Cebu.
The farm equipment distribution is under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) on Major Crop-Based Farm Productivity Enhancement and Sustainable Livelihood Support.
DAR7 Regional Diirector Engr. Reynaldo C. Anfone led the turnover ceremony.
In his message, he encouraged the beneficiaries to establish effective operations of the farm tractor as he underscored that the tractor was provided to their association to help increase income of their members and their group.
Anfone appreciated AMSFA’s other income-generating services like the Consumer Goods Store and Swimming Pool Management helping its 319 total members.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Grace Fua, on the other hand, congratulated AMSFA, saying that the tractor worth P813,000 was provided to help their farm productivity.
“We hope the organization will fully utilize and manage the farm equipment as business enterprise, to boost farm productivity,” she said.
Fua reminded the ARBOs of their responsibilities to provide secured storage facility and the provision of regular operator and operating capital, and maintenance of the farm tractor.
Fernando Navaja, president of AMSFA, thanked DAR for the support that their cooperative received.
The turnover and signing of trust agreement of the farm tractor was also witnessed by Brgy. Capt. Wenscelao Gentapa who thanked DAR on the farm machinery handed over to improve the lives of their constituents who are agrarian reform beneficiaries.
Other DAR officials who were present and witnessed the occasion were Provincial Agrarian Reform Adjudicator Atty. Neili Bilocura-Resma, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer William Dulcero, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer for Program Beneficiaries Development Division Randolph Olvis, CRFPSP Project Coordinator Victoriano Morato, and DAR provincial and municipal staff.(HFG/PIA7 with reports from DAR7)
