QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd) recorded more than 27.1 million students enrolled for the school year 2022-2023.

The DepEd announced that as of Friday, Aug. 19, the total number of registered students has reached 27,158,578.

Region IV-A had the highest number of registrants reaching 3,709,599. It was followed by Region III with 2,810,330 and the National Capital Region with 2,406,014, according to DepEd.

This means that the department has so far did not meet its 28.6 million target enrollees by at least 1.5 million enrollees. (PIA-NCR)
