CEBU CITY, Cebu, August 20 (PIA) -- The Social Security System (SSS) has strengthened the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign in the region.
During the Kapihan sa PIA interview, SSS Senior Member Service Representative and Regional Communications Officer Sherwin Dan Solibaga II said they already conducted eight operations in Central Visayas that started in March 2022.
“For this year, they targeted 10 RACE operations and they will continue their activities for the coming months,” he said.
Solibaga explained that “this campaign aims to exact the continuous compliance of delinquent employers with their statutory obligations under Republic Act No. 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018 to ensure the social security coverage of members so that they will be able to avail of the mandated benefits in times of contingencies.”
To date, there are already 50 employers who received written orders due to non-remittance of contributions, non-reporting of new employees, and unregistered businesses affecting 421 employees.
Solibaga said 100% of these employers fulfilled or complied with all the necessary documents within 15 calendar days from the date of SSS’ visit in their establishments.
“This is our way of helping them restore their good standing with SSS," he said.
Recently, SSS continued their campaign in Carcar City and Argao in Cebu to remind delinquent employers in the areas of their obligations.
Nine employers engaged in food, retail, manufacturing and transportation businesses received written orders from SSS due to non-remittance of contributions with total delinquency amounting to P1.13M affecting 101 employees.
To satisfy the aim of the campaign, SSS also promoted its Pandemic Relief Restructuring Program (PRRP) 3 to the erring employers as a convenient way to settle their delinquency.
“This campaign has a two-pronged approach: first, it aims to provide our members with updated Social Security and Employees Compensation contributions; and second, it aims to bring back delinquent employers to their good standing status with SSS,” Solibaga explained.
SSS encouraged the employers to coordinate with their assigned account officers to avail of the program.
The PRRP 3 is open to delinquent employers who are incapable of paying their delinquencies in full or have no other means to immediately settle their total obligation.
Under this program, they may pay their past-due contributions through installment terms ranging from nine to 60 months, depending on the total amount of delinquency.
Regular or household employers who are qualified for this program are those with unpaid SS and/or EC contributions for at least 6 applicable months, including penalties; unpaid penalties only on paid and/or late payment of contributions, pending applications for installment payment under SSS Circular Nos. 2011-002, and 2018-008; pending applications for Dacion en Pago; pending civil/criminal cases/ judgment/ final judgment/ resolution/ conviction; issued Preliminary Assessment Notice (PAN)/ Final Assessment Notice before Seizure (FANS); and denied application or disqualified under PRRP 2.
The program will be available until Nov. 21, 2022.
