QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The City Government of Taguig on Tuesday, August 30, started the distribution of free school supplies to students as city officials visited the Silangan Elementary School in Brgy. Upper Bicutan.
More than 5,000 learners from Silangan Elementary School received school supplies package that contains hygiene kit, notebooks, ballpen, shoes, uniforms and pad papers.
Present in the ceremonial turnover is Mayor Lani Cayetano, together with 1st District Representative Ricardo "Ading" Cruz Jr., 2nd District Representative Pammy Zamora, Vice Mayor Arvin Arlit, officials of the Department of Education and other employees of the city government.
In her speech, Mayor Cayetano reiterated the importance of collective support from the community in a child’s growth.
"Ako at inyong mga lingkod bayan, kasama ang inyong mga guro at magulang, ay naglalayong maging bahagi ng mga taong sumusuporta sa inyo upang marating ninyo ang mga pangarap niyo sa buhay," she said.
Distribution of school supplies to different schools in the city is already in schedule, so parents and students can look forward to it, according to Mayor Cayetano. (PIA-NCR)
