QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- A new 6-storey building set to provide a safe and modern office space for the country’s weather bureau PAGASA will rise inside the agency's Science Garden Complex in Diliman, Quezon City.
Citing a report from DPWH Unified Project Management Office - Buildings Management Cluster, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said the ongoing 6-storey building project, with a gross floor area of 8,608 square meters, is now 38 percent accomplished.
“This new PAGASA building will be able to provide a conducive office facility for our scientists, which they deserve considering their significant role for the protection of life and property,” said Secretary Bonoan.
When completed, the building will also have an auditorium and additional rooms to comfortably accommodate personnel of the official weather bureau.
According to the DPWH, the project’s scope of works includes a reinforced concrete foundation and building frame from ground floor to the sixth floor with roof deck, dry wall, masonry walls, architectural and water proofing works, curtain wall façade, mechanical works, plumbing and sanitary works, drainage system, and electronic works for a total cost of P269 million.
