KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently handed over a newly completed three-storey building to the City Government of Koronadal.
District Engineer Aly Khan Ali of the South Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office, representing DPWH XII, turned over the upgraded City Health Office along Alunan Avenue to Mayor Eliordo Ogena in a ceremony on September 10.
The P30-million multi-purpose building project was funded by DPWH through the initiative of former South Cotabato 2nd District Representative Ferdinand Hernandez.
The Department of Health (DOH) added P5 million for the completion of the healthcare facility.
“As we turnover this newly completed City Health Office, we pray that this facility will help our community become more resilient against the threats of COVID-19 and other dangerous pathogens,” Engineer Ali said.
The turnover of the health facility came at a time when the number of COVID-19 cases is starting to rise in the South Cotabato province.
“DPWH led by our dynamic Regional Director Basir Ibrahim will be your dependable ally in your quest towards sustainable peace and development in this part of Mindanao,” assured Ali.
The ceremony was also attended by City Councilors Charene Kristelle Jumilla, Sharmagne Arianne Sala, Ellen Grace Subere-Albios and several city and several barangay officials. (With report from South Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office)
