CEBU CITY, Cebu, Sept. 19 (PIA) -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), a social insurance institution for government workers, vows to continue to provide its members with more efficient services as the organization will be managed under new leadership.
GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso presented his plans and priorities for GSIS as he visited the GSIS Cebu Branch in Cebu City on Sept. 14.
Veloso said that among his top priorities is enhancing customer experience by connecting more agencies through the use of mobile phones to ensure that government employees and stakeholders will be able to avail its services without the hassle of going to the branch.
"GSIS will go digital, and to be able to provide better services to government employees, we need also to ensure that all our government equipment is properly managed," said Veloso during the press conference held at the GSIS Cebu Branch Office here on Sept. 14.
"We will further extend our fund line by identifying more non-earning assets and converting them into earning assets," he added.
According to Veloso, the GSIS was able to add at least P25 billion worth of insured equipment during the first two months of the new administration.
The GSIS will also search for different growth and investment opportunities to get additional fund resources and better serve its members.
"The GSIS reserve funds are sufficient, and we will receive more as most of our assets continue to earn," Veloso added. (RGC/PIA7 Cebu)
