KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The local government of the coastal town of Lebak met with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the area to strengthen collaboration with the sector and find ways on how they could help in its development efforts.

In the said meeting, Mayor Frederick Celestial emphasized to the CSOs the value of collaboration with them and how they could widen the sphere of their participation in local government programs and services.

The mayor’s agenda did not fall on deaf ears as the almost 100 representatives of CSOs responded to fully support the local government's development initiatives.

The recenlty-held meeting, also paved the way for civil society groups to be oriented with their roles and functions as well as get accreditation from the LGU and participate in its programs and projects. It also earned them legislative support from the Sangguniang Bayan that would benefit their organizations.
