30 coffee shop owners receive livelihood kits from DTI

VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA)- Exactly 30 registered cafe/coffee shop owners from various municipalities received coffee shop items amounting to P9,910 each under the PPG or Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Prior to the turnover ceremony held on September 09, 2022 at Virac Plaza, an Entrepreneurial development session was conducted by Virac BC John Robert Velchez to help the beneficiaries become more resilient and adaptive as micro business owners.

Present during the turnover were LGU Virac Municipal Administrator Jose Taraya who also joined the distribution ceremony. A Certificate of Appreciation was also awarded to MDRRMO Virac represented by Michelle Magtangob for their unwavering support and consistent positive response to the requests from DTI Catanduanes in the course of the PPG program implementation.

The DTI team present during the turnover were PPG Provincial Coordinator Geraldine Bagadiong, NC Virac Business Counselor John Robert Velchez, NC San Andres Business Counselor Janster Bonavente, NC Bato Business Counselor Jaymark Hensen Tresvalles and PPG Staff Lalaine Beguiras.

Information Materials were also handed over  to all beneficiaries to familiarize them with the wide array of programs and services offered by DTI.

PPG was a livelihood seeding program that aimed to propel the growth of MSMEs through provision of livelihood assistance in a form of business packages. This was intended for qualified beneficiaries across the province, 100% of which are DTI-registered micro entrepreneurs who were affected by calamities including the pandemic.

Distribution was done through batches and per sector.  (EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
