MANILA, (PIA) -- Leaders of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR), Faith-based Organizations and various communities in Metro Manila gathered on October 3, 2022 at the NCRPO Grandstand, Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) affirming their commitment to the revitalized KASIMBAYANAN program.
KASIMBAYANAN, an acronym that stands for KApulisan, SIMBAhan at PamaYANAN, is a partnership of principal stakeholders whose aim is to promote community-based programs designed to foster peace and order and public safety among communities in the NCR.
The KASIMBAYANAN is a movement unique in the sense that it melds law enforcement principles and community relations based on fundamental values and spiritual and moral beliefs that reflect its multi-sectoral character. It is a holistic collaboration involving law enforcement, faith-based organizations, civil society, and the community at large.
Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, who signed the MOU on behalf of DILG-NCR, was guest-of-honor and principal speaker at the signing ceremony.
"It is with great pride and at the same time a deep sense of humility that I stand as signatory to the MOU between and among the NCRPO, the religious sector, and the DILG-NCR - this MOU will embody all our aspirations for peace and cohesion as a community, and in a larger sense, as one Filipino people," Agustin said as she expressed her support for KASIMBAYANAN.
