200 BARMM indigent families get new houses

COTABATO CITY (PIA) -- A total of 200 indigent families from the three municipalities of Maguindanao in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) now have houses they can call their own.

This came after the Ministry of Public Works of BARMM (MPW-BARMM), through the BARMM-KAPYANAN (Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan) Program recently turned over 200 housing units amounting to P80, 775,776 to recipient-families at Barangay Kibleg in Upi, Barangay Pinanatao in Parang, and Barangay Camp Darapan in Sultan Kudarat in the said province.

The project sought to address the need for better and safer homes for families who were displaced due to conflict, the former combatants, and the poorest among the poor.

BARMM Assistant Senior Minister Abdullah Cusain, who is also the program manager of KAPYANAN, reminded the beneficiaries to take care of their homes, which have been made available to them by the Bangsamoro Government.

Cusain also cited that the BARMM Government is pushing to have a peaceful, decent home as well as a unified community.

KAPYANAN is among the special programs of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim aimed at providing basic needs including core shelters with light, water, and sanitation, and sustainable livelihood for the poorest of the poor in the region. (With reports from BIO-BARMM).
