QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) has committed its full support to the recently-launched "Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan" (BIDA) program.

DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr. encouraged all sectors to support the BIDA program in order to address the perennial problem of illegal drugs, which continues to threaten peace and order in our communities.

According to DILG-NCR, the BIDA program will shift the focus of the ongoing illegal drug campaign in favor of demand reduction and rehabilitation, in line with the Marcos administration's policy on the matter.

The program was designed to operate as a multi-sectoral, multi-institutional, multi-organizational, whole-of-government approach to solve the drug problem. (DILG-NCR/PIA-NCR)
