CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) --The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) welcomes retired Police Major General Moro Virgilio M Lazo as its newly-appointed Director General.

Lazo formally assumed the PDEA leadership from outgoing Director General Wilkins M Villanueva on October 19, 2022.

 Lazo, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maharlika” Class of 1984, had a long and illustrious career as a decorated police officer.

Among his noteworthy leadership stints include: Director of the Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP); Deputy Regional Director for Administration and Officer-In-Charge of the PNP Police Regional Office 1; Chief of the Firearms and Explosive Office, PNP; Chief of SAF, Directorial Staff; and member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) during the administration of President Fidel Ramos.
