MMDA inspects Solid Waste Granulator, Brick Making Facility in Tondo

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chair Carlo Dimayuga III, together with officials from the World Bank (WB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the Department of Public Works and Highways, on Wednesday inspected the Solid Waste Granulator (SWG) and Brick Making Facility (BMF) located at Vitas Pumping Station in Tondo, Manila.

During the inspection, MMDA project proponents presented the operational process of the Solid Waste Granulator and Brick Making Facility.

Both the SWG and the BMF were established to convert solid waste into useful by-products such as bricks, eco-hollow blocks, eco-concrete barriers, and bio-waste compost materials.

The inspection is part of the 8th Implementation Support Mission to check on the progress of the WB and AIIB-funded Metro Manila Flood Management Project-Phase 1, which aims to reduce vulnerability to and strengthen resilience against floods in the metropolis. (MMDA/PIA-NCR)
