CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) –President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. encouraged the public and private sector to work together to optimize the opportunities provided by information communication technology (ICT) for nation-building.
In his message on Wednesday during the 2022 National Information & Communications Technology Summit at the Manila Hotel where he was invited as guest of honor and speaker, the President spoke of a cohesive public-private collaboration to adapt to a fast-changing developments in the use of ICT.
“There is also a need for the public sector to work and partner with the private sector to encourage growth, promote investments, make sure that private enterprise acts in the best interest and welfare of the general public,” he said.
Marcos also stresses his administration’s commitment to realize the vision of a Digital Philippines.
“We will achieve this by enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure, improving the regulatory framework for innovation, ensuring cybersecurity, and developing the country’s digital workforce, amongst other things,” the President said.
He also called on the members of the Congress to help accelerate the swift passage of the E-Governance and E-Government bills.
This year's ICT summit carries the theme, "Toward a Citizen-Centric, Inclusive and Sustainable eGovernance Ecosystem #BuildBetterMore".
The event was attended by the officials and personnel of the DICT, officials and members of the Chief Information Officers Forum (CIOF) Foundation, representatives from the academe and the private sector, and national and local government officials. (PIA-NCR)
