VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) - The Catanduanes Banker’s Association (CABA) has issued Board Resolution 2022-04 declaring “Shortened Banking Hours of up to 12:00 PM for All Member Banks in the Province of Catanduanes” today, October 28, 2022 in view of the onslaught of Storm “Paeng.”
The resolution was issued by CABA President Arelle A. Bagadiong, head of LandBank of the Philippines Virac Branch, in reference to the Memorandum 246 issued yesterday by the Office of the Governor, suspending government work in Catanduanes.
Meanwhile, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) Virac Branch Head Brenda G. Brizo appealed to local government units (LGUs), government offices, private agencies, and individuals to visit the bank and make their transactions earlier in anticipation of the effects of Paeng, notably heavy rains and possible flashfloods and landslides.
She also assured that the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of all member banks will remain fully operational. However, power interruptions may affect operation of its onsite and offsite ATMs.
At present, CABA is composed of 13 banks in Virac, namely, Chinabank, DBP, First Consolidated Bank, LBP San Andres, LBP Virac, Legazpi Savings Bank, Philippine National Bank, and RCBC.
As of the 5 a.m. Tropical Cyclone Bulletin issued by the station here of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration placed Signal No. 2 over Catanduanes. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
