CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA)—President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., also the concurrent Agriculture Secretary is set to lead the launch of KADIWA ng Pasko on Saturday, November 5 at the RASAC Covered Court, Alvarez St. corner Rizal Avenue, Brgy. 334 in Manila.
KADIWA ng Pasko aims to promote and market the agri-fishery products of local farmers and fishers, thus increasing their income.
The timely event also aims to address the possible price increase of agricultural goods in the National Capital Region due to the upcoming Christmas Season.
The Department of Agriculture invited 13 farmers and fisherfolks cooperatives from Region CAR, III, IV-A and V to sell highland and lowland vegetables, fruits, fish, eggs, rice, and dairy products.
In addition, 11 Young Farmers Challenge Awardees of 2021 and 2022 from Region CAR and III will also show their products during the event.
To promote the BBM Sugar to the consuming public, the DA also invited the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) to sell BBM sugar amounting to Php. 70.00 per kg. only.
The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) has also invited local MSMEs to sell canned goods, cheese, bread, and other basic necessities.
The DA as the lead agency of the program, will continue to coordinate with the Office of the President Presidential Management Staff (OP-PMS) and member agencies of the Technical Working Group (TWG) such as DTI, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for list of areas in NCR where the KADIWA ng Pasko will be implemented and possible expansion of the project to other regions.
