PBBM expected to grace Kadiwa ng Pasko in Mandaluyong City

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA)—President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is expected to liven up the conduct of KADIWA ng Pasko on Wednesday, November 16 at Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City.

The event will be simultaneously conducted in the cities of San Juan and Valenzuela tomorrow.

KADIWA ng Pasko is a gathering of farmers, fisherfolk and Micro-Small & Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) where they can directly sell their fresh produce and other local products at reasonable prices.

The event is beneficial to sellers as they can directly sell their produce without the aid of middlemen, thus increasing their income, while on the part of consumers, they can buy items at reasonable and lower prices compared to mainstream market.

Kadiwa sa Pasko was conceptualized and organized by the Office of the President, the Department of Agriculture as the lead national agencies to address the possible price increase of agricultural goods in the National Capital Region due to the upcoming Christmas Season.

It was launched November 5 in Manila participated by 13 farmers and fisherfolks cooperatives from Region CAR, III, IV-A and V to sell highland and lowland vegetables, fruits, fish, eggs, rice, and dairy products.

Eleven (11) Young Farmers Challenge Awardees of 2021 and 2022 from Region CAR and III will also exhibited their products at the event.

To promote the BBM Sugar to the consuming public, the DA also invited the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) to sell BBM sugar amounting to Php. 70.00 per kg. only.

The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) has also invited local MSMEs to sell canned goods, cheese, bread, and other basic necessities.

The Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) will also showcase products made and crafted by the Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) as well as the elderly; children who are abandoned, neglected, or victims of abuse; and other residents of the different centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs) including the Nayon ng Kabataan, Sanctuary Center, and Golden Reception and Action Center for the Elderly and other Special Cases, among others.

Some of their products include rugs, wallets, cord organizers, bags, pastries, and other arts and crafts items, among others. (pia-ncr)
