SEC recognizes PIA NegOr for help in info drive

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Nov. 24 (PIA) – The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Negros Oriental has received a plaque of recognition from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the agency’s contributions in sustaining the gains of SEC and for helping raise public awareness on SEC’s advocacies in the province.

SEC Bacolod  Extension Office Information Officers Atty. Clyde Linaja Padilla nand Laarni Dilag King presented the award to PIA Provincial Information Center Manager Jennifer Tilos during the their courtesy call on Nov. 22.

Both SEC and PIA also discussed future collaborations and advocacy campaign activities in 2023 to heighten the public’s knowledge on SEC’s anti-investment scam program.

This includes an engagement with the local media and a briefing with the members of the Association of Negros Oriental Public Information Officers (ANOPIO) for massive information dissemination.

Tilos thanked SEC for the recognition and reaffirmed PIA’s commitment in communicating accurate and useful information to the public.

“We are very honored with this recognition. As a partner in government communication service, PIA commits to inform the public on the latest directives of SEC and help educate people on how to avoid investment scams so that they won’t fall victim to these schemes,” Tilos said.

Negros Oriental is part of the area of coverage of SEC Bacolod Extension office.

Meanwhile, the SEC Bacolod Extension Office has announced that starting Dec. 1, the agency will no longer be accepting over-the-counter payments for all payment transactions.

Dilag said this is in line with SEC’s digitalization program.

“All payment transactions with Payment Assessment Form (PAF) shall be paid online via eSPAYSEC. To access the online payment system, go to www.sec.gov.ph, click Online Services and choose eSPAYSEC. A video tutorial is available to guide you step-by-step in making payment,” she said.

Transactions that use PAF include the processing fee for new registration, amendment, secondary license and petition, requests for certified true and plain copies, documentary stamp, requests for Certificate of Filing/ Corporate Information and Certificate of No Derogatory, payment of annual fees and penalties.
