VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) - December 7, 2022, a Wednesday, was declared as a special non-working day in this capital town.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 92 signed on November 11, 2022, the declaration which is in connection with the celebration of Kaaldawan nin Virac, will allow the people of the municipality to be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to the public health measures of the national government.
In view of this, various activities will be conducted with a kick-off parade on Dec. 01, around downtown Virac to be participated by Local Government Unit of Virac (LGU), government and non-government offices and other organizations.
A Novenario will also highlight the celebration which started on Nov. 28 to Dec. 07. An Agro-Industrial Fair, Youth & CSO Bazaar will also be showcased at Virac Plaza Rizal rom Dec. 01-08.
Other activities are the following: Lighting of Christmas Tree; Blood Letting; Skills Olympics; Mutya ng Virac; Shootfest; Chess Torurnament; Badminton Tournament; Sepak Takraw Tournament; Game Fowl Expo; Jobs Fair; Awarding of Nonagenarian and Centenarian; and Civic Military Parade.
