Manila Japanese School students hold educational tour at MRT-3

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) –Some 35 students of the Manila Japanese school hold an educational tour at the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) depot complex in Quezon City last Tuesday, 5 December 2022.

Before the tour, the students, accompanied by their teachers, were briefed of the history, system features, and safety protocols of the MRT-3.

The students were divided into groups and were accompanied by staff from Sumitomo-MHI, the maintenance provider of MRT-3, and the Safety and Security Unit (SSU) as they visited the different areas of the depot complex, including the light maintenance section, train washer area, stabling area, among others. Stand-by medical tehnicians were also deployed during the tour.

Afterwards, the guests rode a train from the depot stabling area up to Shaw Boulevard station.

"We take pleasure in hosting this educational tour for the Manila Japanese School students as we place a high premium on knowledge- as well as culture-sharing,” said MRT-3 General Manager Engr. Federico J. Canar, Jr.

“The curiousity and keen interest of these students, who are in elementary or grade school level, in our railway operations, have also inspired us to continue improving our services for the benefit of the riding public," he added. (dotr/pia-ncr)
