DOLE livelihood extends assistance to KADIWA sellers

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) --The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) extends its livelihood assistance programs to interested KADIWA sellers and drivers.

KADIWA, or the “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita” program launched by the Department of Agriculture (DA) in 2019, enables local farmers to sell goods directly to consumers without the trader-intermediaries. This allows for higher profits while still offering consumers quality products at affordable prices.

According to the Quezon City Field Office (QCFO) of DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR), 14 KADIWA sellers already expressed their interest in availing of DOLE’s livelihood assistance during the KADIWA caravan opening in Manila.

The seller-applicants are currently being validated to become possible beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program, one of the labor department’s key programs providing economic opportunities to vulnerable workers through entrepreneurial capacity-building grants.

DOLE’s contribution to the program includes mobilizing Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and order in all KADIWA sites. (dole-ncr/pia-ncr)
