Magsaysay Flyover outer lane, up for demolition

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advises motorists that the outer-most lane of Magsaysay Flyover (Westbound, going to Nagtahan) will be demolished as part of its ongoing decommissioning led by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

According to MMDA, two (2) lanes will remain open on the flyover while the other two lanes are also open below the bridge.

Also, there will be no road closure to be implemented on the eastbound part, or the area going to Cubao.

The demolition of the bridge is to give way to the construction of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road. Once completed, Magsaysay Boulevard will have a new configuration of five lanes per direction and will be wider with 3.5 meters per lane, at par with the standards of the DPWH.

The demolition of the bridge began in late October of this year. (DPWH/PIA-NCR)
