MANILA, (PIA) -- Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval has assured the local government's continued assistance to families affected by a recent fire incident in Barangay Maysilo.
“Makakaasa po kayo na tuluy-tuloy ang aming pag-agapay sa inyo hanggang sa tuluyan pong makaahon ang bawat isa (You can count on your local government to continue our support for you until everyone has recovered),” Sandoval assured the fire victims that the city government would help them, provided they help themselves.

The local chief executive personally accompanied the families to the new temporary shelters located along C4 Road, Barangay Tañong, where families displaced by the fire will be staying.
The city government said the victims will also be supplied with food and water.
The 50 residents were the first, out of the two batches, to transfer to new evacuation shelters. They are composed of 14 families, including four senior citizens, and 18 children, were initially brought to the evacuation site in Maysilo Elementary School.
The Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), for its part, said the new shelters were the city’s former isolation facility. Each room has a bed and a comfort room.
Joining Mayor Sandoval were Malabon Chief of Police Colonel Amante Daro, Malabon DRRMO, and Community Urban Poor Affairs Office (CUPAO). (PIA-NCR)
