QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --Various activities has been prepared by the City Government of Navotas to commemorate the City’s 117th founding anniversary on January 16.
The Navotas Day celebration with the theme, “Angat All, Saya All sa Pakikipagkapwa,” started Monday (Jan. 9) with Misa ng Pasasalamat and Pistang Kristyano.
Kalye Fiesta, a banchetto-style night market, will also be opened at the Navotas Citywalk and Amphitheater.
On January 10, Navotas will hold the Araw ng Mangingisda, featuring competitions on boat racing and net mending, distribution of NavoBangka, and awarding of the Top 10 Most Outstanding Fisherfolk.
Navotas will also give recognition to the Top 20 Taxpayers in Business and Realty on January 13.
“We invite everyone to join our celebration. While the past years have been challenging for all of us, we remain thankful for the blessings, protection, and guidance we received from the Almighty,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Also included in the Navotas Day list of activities are Zumba and Health Caravan for Lolo and Lola, Funbike and Funbikers’ Race, and Open Air Martial Arts Exhibition.
Other activities within the week are simultaneous clean-up activity, distribution of cash aid to solo parents, mega job fair, and financial literacy webinars.
To cap off the celebration, the city government will distribute 5-kilo packs of rice to residents on January 16-21.
Earlier, the city government also gave Christmas hams to more than 80,000 Navoteño families. (navotas pio/pia-ncr)
