QUEZON CITY, (PIA)-- The City of Taguig and ICan Serve Foundation Inc, together with Dashlabs, the Embassy of Switzerland, and Novartis, launched the “Circle of Life”, Ating Dibdibin's comprehensive data and digital infrastructure, Wednesday, January 11.
Ating Dibdibin is a community-based health program which assists Taguigueños in breast cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment.
With Taguig chosen as the pilot site for the Circle of Life project, the city would be empowered to make data-driven decisions through analytics that can help identify gaps in cancer care and enhance monitoring and evaluation.
In her message during the event, Mayor Lani Cayetano emphasized the importance of data analytics to provide the best health care and programs to residents.
“Data analytics has helped many frontiers and industries develop exponentially to provide greater clarity on issues. By analyzing patient data, healthcare providers can identify trends and patterns that can help them provide better care to their patients,” said Mayor Lani.
Taguig conducts seminars on breast cancer, including forums teaching women how to do breast self-exams. Free clinical examinations and screenings are also available in the city. Kamay Gabay Kits are distributed as well. These include flyers on breast cancer myths and facts, and a step-by-step guide on conducting breast self-examinations.
Last October 2022, Taguig held a Pink Walkathon: A 5K Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, with more than 700 Taguiguenos including breast cancer patients, survivors, and other cancer support groups participating, to increase awareness about the disease.
