4 QCU programs get Level 1 Accreditation from ALCUCOA

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –- Mayor Joy Belmonte extended her appreciation to the city run QC University for having received Level 1 Accreditation from the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) for four of its programs.

“We congratulate QCU for its latest achievement. This is a proof of our steadfast desire to provide QCitizens with an excellent educational program that is at par or even exceeds the standards set by private learning institutions,” Belmonte said.

Four programs of the local government-run Quezon City University (QCU) have received Level 1 Accreditation from the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) following a rigorous accreditation process.

The programs include Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship.

Quezon City University President, Dr. Theresita Atienza, received the certificates on behalf of the university from ALCUCOA President and Executive Director, Dr Raymundo P. Arcega, during the Faculty and Staff Convocation 2022 held at QCU.

The certification showed that QCU is in accordance with the ALCUCOA standards following a meticulous three-day evaluation process, which was verified by the Technical Review Board Committee, approved by the Board of Directors and confirmed by the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA).

The assessment include the following areas: Governance and Administration, Faculty, Curriculum and Instruction, Student Development and Services, Entrepreneurship and Employability, Community Extension Services, Research, Library, Laboratories, and Physical Plant/Facilities.

“Our sincerest gratitude to Mayor Joy Belmonte and her administration for her full support in making QCU the best local government-run university in Metro Manila, if not the entire country,” Dr. Atienza said.

As accrediting body for local colleges and universities, ALCUCOA is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to examine the educational operations of local government-run universities and determine if they are operating above or within the standards set for higher education institutions.
