Number of new voters for BSKE reaches 1.1M

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Up to 1.1 million new voters have registered so far for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) to be held in October.

This is eight days before the registration deadline on January 31.

According to Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairperson George Garcia, 7,000 of the new voters have registered under the Register Anywhere Project (RAP), which will last until January 25.

On Monday, January 23, the Office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will serve as a RAP site, as well as the Senate on Wednesday, January 25.

The RAP was first placed in select malls in Metro Manila, Bicol Region and Central Visayas that accepted voter applications in the past three weekends that started on December 17 of last year and January 7, 8, 14 and 15 this year. (PIA-NCR)
