24 PDLs now certified Baristas

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – Twenty four persons deprived of liberty (PDL) obtained their National Certificate as Barista after undergoing training and assessment recently.

The Technical-Vocational School (TECH-VOC) of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW), Mandaluyong in partnership with the TESDA PAMAMARISAN successfully trained 24 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of BARISTA NC II.

The PDLs have acquired the core competencies of Barista NC II training such as preparing espresso, preparing and serving coffee beverages, performing basic maintenance and equipment, and performing basic cashiering and general control procedures.

The PDL trainees were assessed by the TESDA Assessors; Mr. Richard A. Del Rosario, Ms. Ma. Cecelia Carcueva, and Mr. Michael J Medina under the supervision of the Assessment Center Manager of the Carenet Healthcare Institute, INC, Mr. Aljun P. Santos.

With the support of Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., AFP Ret. CESE, Acting BuCor Director-General and C/SInsp Elsa Martorillas, CIW Acting Superintendent, aspire to preserve the partnership and linkages of CIW with other government and private sectors who are willing to offer trainings to the PDLs.
