QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --Japanese Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission Matsuda Kenichi, who delivered a message on behalf of the Embassy of Japan, lauded the “lasting appreciation of Filipinos for Japanese culture” through the enduring popularity of JFF over the years.
Matsuda’s message was delivered during the opening of Japanese Film Festival 2023 on July 20, 2023 at the Shangri-La Plaza atrium.
Japan Foundation Manila Director Suzuki Ben, FDCP Chairman and CEO Tirso Cruz III, and Shangri-La Plaza Head of Operations Johnny Rios also graced the event with their respective remarks.
The Sayaw Hapon Sakura dance group treated guests to a Nihon Buyo performance, providing the perfect backdrop for the films in this year’s festival.
The guests also enjoyed the free film screening of the animated film “Belle”, directed by highly acclaimed director HOSODA Mamoru.
Onsite screening for the 2023 JFF will run from 20 January to 22 February 2023 at Shangri-La Plaza cinemas and various venues in the Philippines. (pia-ncr with details from the Embassy of Japan PH)
