New BPO provides employment for Dumagueteños

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- New business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Nova Techset Ltd., a global supplier of prepress services officially inaugurated its latest Philippine branch site, creating employment opportunities in Dumaguete City.

Indian Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yogesh Agarwal said Nova Techset initially hired 50 agent-workers but the number is expected to reach 500 in succeeding years.

This Philippine-based e-publishing business company provides copy editing, software and information technology (IT) development, and pre-editing services to large publishing companies across the globe.

Agawal said the company has six office branches worldwide, which include three offices in India, one each in United Kingdom and United States and in Dumaguete City.

Suzanne Lu-Bascarra, president of the ICT Association of Dumaguete and Negros Oriental, said the province has now more than 30 BPOs with a total of 13,000 employees.

Bascarra thanked the newly-opened BPO for providing employment opportunities to Dumagueteños.

“What dragged me here because I like Dumague not only as a university town good education history but the people and the culture are very similar to what we carry in India. We have the same family values, the love to stay with the family,” said Agarwal.

The company has called on interested qualified college graduates to apply and visit their office at the 2nd floor, L & G Annex, Aldecoa Road, Dumaguete City.

“One thing I promise to the local people that we will have a healthy competition, paying them with fair market value, giving them a good working atmosphere, good facility, and five days a week working days (two days in the office and three days at their respective homes with complete provision of equipment and internet connection),” the CEO said.
