VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA)- With barely a day left before the close of the voter registration period for the 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) here made a last call for unregistered Filipinos 15 years old and above to enlist at the Comelec office in their municipality.
Provincial Election Supervisor II Atty. Neil B. Canicula said the Comelec municipal offices will be accepting registrants until 5 p.m. tomorrow, January 3. He added that that there will be no extension of the registration hour.
As of January 30, 2023, a total of 3,860 have registered from the eleven (11) municipalities of the province. The following is the breakdown of registration turnouts of the different towns: Bagamanoc (324); Baras (290); Bato (395); Caramoran (273); Gigmoto (157); Pandan (401); Panganiban (245); San Andres (475); San Miguel (271); Viga (340); and Virac (689).
COMELEC registration requirements include at least one of the following valid IDs and a photocopy: National ID/PhilSys ID; Driver’s license; SSS ID/GSIS ID/UMID; IBP ID; NBI clearance; Passport; Postal ID; PRC ID; PWD ID; Barangay ID/Certification with photo; Senior Citizen ID; Company ID or Employee ID; Student ID or library card signed by the school authority; Certificate of Confirmation from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP); Any other valid ID with your photo and signature (except for cedula and police clearance).
Applicants turning 18 years old on the upcoming election day, must bring original and photocopy of birth certificate.
The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will be held on October 30, 2023. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
