DSWD provides financial aid to 160 indigent patients at the NKTI

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided financial assistance of P10,000 each to 160 indigent patients who are currently receiving treatment at the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI) on East Avenue Quezon City.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. himself and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian personally handed over P10,000 as part of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) during the NKTI founding anniversary celebration on Monday.

The DSWD also pledged to provide assistance to other patients who need medical assistance, burial, transportation and educational assistance.

In 2022, DSWD thru AICS has provided assistance to a total of 5,336,381 patients. The agency also assured that they will continue to provide assistance to those who are unable to meet their needs. (PIA-NCR)
