QUEZON CITY (PIA) - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sees rapid effects of the productive working visit to Japan. He expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government and business firms for their support of the Philippines.
Marcos witnessed the signing of 35 key agreements between the two countries. Agriculture, infrastructure, digitalization, and automotive industries are just a few of the areas addressed by the signed agreements.
He says that the visit has been ‘very productive’.
One of the highlights of this visit was the meeting of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan. The President mentioned that they were able to re-establish the relationship between the Philippines and its long-time ally.
The Philippines-Japan relationship was established decades ago. Since 1956, the two countries have created diplomatic relations and ever since have been exchanging support for projects and programs through the years.
Throughout the working visit, Japan has been continuously extending support and pledges to the Philippines. Marcos is optimistic that this alliance will help the Filipino people and the country’s economy as it emerges through the effects of the pandemic. (MVV, PIA-CPSD)
