QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched its online renewal for private vehicle registration.
Owners of private vehicles can renew their registration at the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) Portal.
This initiative is in line with the office's efforts to digitize its operations.
The LTO said online registration will separate transactions at district offices and prevent the use of fixers.
Renewal requires a certificate of cover (COC) from your chosen insurance company and for the vehicle to be inspected by any private motor vehicle inspection center (PMVIC).
Currently, there are 101 private motor vehicle inspection centers (PMVIC) throughout the country.
Once obtained, the user can log into the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal, select the vehicle type, renew, encode certificate of cover (COC) and private motor vehicle inspection results center (PMVIC) test, pay, and then print, take a screenshot of their official receipt, or log in through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal to display the official receipt if needed.
Renewal rates will remain the same — P240 for motorcycles, P300 for motorcycles with sidecars, P1,600 to P8,000 for cars depending on the gross weight and type of car.
However, bank partners have an additional service or utility fee depending on the chosen payment method.
Online renewal is only for vehicles registered on the portal.
This means that the private vehicle must first be registered under the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) centralized database.
As of January 01, 2023, 10.9 million out of 13.9 million registered vehicles are under the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) database. (PIA-NCR)
