PNAC calls on CSOs/NGOs for membership

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – The Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) is inviting Civil Society Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations engaged in HIV and AIDS response to be members of the Council.

To qualify, a CSO/NGO must have a direct contribution to the performance of the core functions of the Council, including that oversight, direction setting, and policy making. Further, it must have existing programs, services, and activities that directly contribute to the achievement of the AIDS Medium Term Plan; and with existing constituencies that are targeted by the AMTP’s objectives and activities.

Section 6 on Membership and Composition of the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act (RA 11166), specifically states a) two representatives from organizations of PLHIV; b) one representative from a private organization with expertise in standard setting and service delivery; c) six representatives from NGOs working for the welfare of identified key population to be members of the Council.

Currently, there are seven CSO members including ACHIEVE (Action for Health Initiatives, Inc.), Affiliation Against AIDS in Mindanao Inc. (ALAGAD-Mindanao), AIDS Society of the Philippines (ASP), Pinoy Plus Advocacy Pilipinas Inc. (PPAPI), Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., Positive Action Foundation Philippines Inc. (PAFPI) and The Library Foundation Sexuality, Health and Rights Educators Collective Inc. (TLF Share).  

Interested parties must prepare the following documents, to wit: 1) Agency/Organization Profile; 2) List of Projects within three years including funding source; 3) Notarized Sworn Statement indicating that such agency has no derogatory record and has not been in default in liquidating any funds from any government agency or external partners; 4) Latest or updated SEC registration; and 5) Letter of intent addressed to the PNAC Chairperson, OIC Secretary of Health Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire through the PNAC Secretariat OIC-Executive Director III Dr. Joselito R. Feliciano.

All documents must be submitted to the PNAC Secretariat, c/o Ms. Krizhia Lorraine Foronda, Unit 201, 2nd Floor, One AGM Plaza, 1830 Rizal Avenue Sta.
