Don't sell, put up for rent govt housing -NHA

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The National Housing Authority (NHA) has warned housing beneficiaries not to sell or put up for rent the housing provided to them by the government.

According to NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, the provided housing may be blacklisted or canceled when it is sold or rented to others.

"Those who are selling or renting out their right, you can't repeat benefitting anymore. To our beneficiaries, I hope you will take good care of the housing units you received from the government," said Tai.

Tai's advice to the public, contact NHA directly if you want to get cheap housing.

According to Tai, it was during the time of former NHA general manager Marcelino Escalada Jr. in 2021 when a cancellation order was issued to beneficiaries who sell or rent housing.

It was learned that the modus operandi involved the beneficiary paying P250 to P500 per month for housing and then rents it to others for P3,000 to P4,000 per month. (PIA-NCR)
