QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) is warning the public against common diseases that can be contracted amid the hot weather as the dry season approaches.

According to Department of Health officer-in-charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire, they are just waiting for the official declaration of the beginning of the dry season because every time summer comes to the country there are diseases that the agency actively monitors with concern.

These diseases include heat stroke and dehydration that can be experienced especially by senior citizens and members of the population at-risk.

The health agency reminded the public to always bring water or any form of hydration whenever you go out in order to keep hydrated; bring protection against the heat such as wearing a hat, using an umbrella, and wearing only thin type of clothing. (PIA-NCR)
