COTABATO CITY (PIA)—The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) is calling on the public to support the initiatives geared towards the success of the Bangsamoro government.
“Hinihikayat ko po ang mamamayan na suportahan po ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao dahil kami po ay bago o batang gobyerno pa lang po. Aming inaasahan na sa panalangin ng bawat isa ay matutulungan na magsucceed ang Bangsamoro government,” Atty. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba, member of parliament and floor leader of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, said.
Dumama-Alba, during the recent PIA Takayang Dose radio program, emphasized the importance of public support to recognize the efforts of the Bangsamoro government. She also urged the Bangsamoro people to dismiss disinformation and help one another to achieve progress.
Since the region is slowly getting back to normal after the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the official said the Bangsamoro government is continuously implementing various programs particularly the delivery of social services and services on health and education.
“We hasten and intensify the implementation of programs to uplift the lives of the Bangsamoro people,” Dumama-Alba said.
For the part of the BTA, she noted that members of the parliament are focusing on the enactment of the remaining priority codes, particularly the Bangsamoro Electoral Code.
Dumama-Alba emphasized that the code is important to formulate an electoral system that is open, democratic, and participative. She added the BEC will help ensure a smooth and trustworthy election in the region in 2025.
A series of public consultations in different areas of the region were already conducted to get the insights, comments, and suggestions of the Bangsamoro people.
The BEC is one of the seven priority codes of the Bangsamoro government. Of the seven, three codes were already enacted. These are the Bangsamoro Administrative Code, Bangsamoro Civil Service Code, and the Bangsamoro Education Code.
Other priority codes to be enacted are the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, Bangsamoro Local Governance Code, Bangsamoro Revenue Code, and the Indigenous Peoples Code.
