The color palettes of the logo design also represent collective meanings for the city as it strives to imbibe the colors of the Philippine national flag.
While the red color conveys the passion of the city government to thrive its intricate cultural identity, the blue color symbolizes the values of public trust and stability of this commitment. The yellow color in the logo meanwhile expresses joy and hope as the city embarks on its 450th anniversary being an institution and community.
City Mayor Vico Sotto led the launching of the official brandmark with Vice Mayor Robert ‘Dodo’ Jaworski Jr., Congressman Roman Romulo, and the city councilors.
“Ikinagagalak ko pong makasama kayo sa mga pagdiriwang natin. Pero hindi lang po sa masaya, kundi, isa pong karangalan na nandito po tayo ngayon at isine-celebrate natin bilang mga Pasigueño. Isang karangalan na mabuhay, isang karangalan na maglingkod sa ika-450 year bilang mga Pasigueño. At sana po ay ganoon po ang nararamdaman ng bawat isa sa atin. Sana magkaisa po tayo, para sa tuloy na ikauunlad ng ating lungsod Pasig (It is with great pleasure to join you in our forthcoming celebrations. However, it is not all about the happiness but also the honor that we are here today celebrating our identity as Pasigueños. It is an honor to be alive and it is an honor to serve Pasigueños in the 450th year of the city. I hope that each and one of us share this sentiment. I hope that we can be united towards the greater progress of our city),” Sotto said.
“As we embark on the 450th celebration and anniversary of our beloved city, magkaisa po tayo at malaman natin na tayo ay mayaman - mayaman sa ating kultura, mayaman sa sining, mayaman sa kasaysayan at higit pa riyan, mas magiging mayaman pa at mas magiging maliwanag pa ang kinabukasan natin bilang mga Pasigueno kung tayo po ay magkakaisa at magsasama-sama,” Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski Jr. added.
During the launch, a series of cultural performances were also showcased by various student groups including the Kultura Rizalia and Himig Rizalia from the Rizal Technological University - Pasig, Himig Chorale of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig, and Rizal High School’s Folkloric Group.
Every year, on July 2, the local government of Pasig celebrate the establishment of the city’s ‘población’ at its current geographical location since 1573. (PIA-NCR)
