MM police chief guarantees safe Semana Santa, Summer Vacation

PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Police Major General Edgar Alan Okubo assured the people in the metropolis the maximum presence of the police force for a safe Semana Santa and summer vacation.

According to Okubo, the police personnel that will be deployed will focus on maximum police presence, anti-criminality campaigns, and other pre-emptive measures while the region expects an influx of people.

A total of 4,690 police men and women are ready to be deployed within the streets and vital installations in Metro Manila to conduct anti-criminality operations, target hardening measures, traffic management/direction and control, and other related police public safety services.

Likewise, the Metro Manila police force will be visible in transportation hub terminals, places of worship, malls, markets, commercial areas, and parks within NCR.

Likewise, the NCRPO coordinated with other government agencies for additional support personnel, thus, deployment has been set to a total of 7,738 security forces including Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Special Action Force, Regional Highway Patrol Unit (RHPU), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), and Aviation Security Group.

NCRPO chief Okubo sought the cooperation and support of the public towards a new, peaceful, and safe Lenten season and summer vacation in Metro Manila.
