TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, March 3 (PIA) -- Expect 1,500 to 2,000 motorcyclists in mixed displacement bikes from bike groups across the country getting into the province’s 10 most iconic spots on March 18-19, as the Department of Tourism (DOT) brings in Motor 7, its contribution to the Philippine motorcycle tourism event.

Set on March 17-19, the activity allows visiting motorbikers from all over the country to advance safe motorcycle driving, safer road bikes and endurance driving in Bohol as well as promote the province using its scenic well paved country roads and great people to the motorbiking community all over the world.

Taking advantage of the rising motorcycle borne tourists and loopers and the seamless connectivity in the country’s road travelers courtesy of the Roll-on-Roll-Off vessels, Motor-7 Central Visayas popularizes motorcycle loops in the region.

In Bohol, it also aims for motorbike tourists in solo, tandem or trio to safely enjoy Bohol's geopark, beauty, and bounty, said producer-director David Tuting.

Tuting, along with Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 7 Ambassadress Jet Lee and Trunx Adarna of Q815 custome outfitters, with the DOT-7 and Bohol Tourism office, are now preparing for the motor event in 2023.

Part of the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism, Motor-7’s Bohol Loop is another campaign in the region spearheaded by the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPB), the marketing and promotions arm of the DOT and Bohol Tourism Office under the office of Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado to spur domestic motorcycle tourism.

Set in collaboration with the DOT Central Visayas, BTO and the Boholanos, Bohol Loop 2023 features approximately a 600-km motor tourism loop that would take the riders in sightseeing tours while testing their agility, endurance, navigation and time management in safely handling their bikes in getting to all the 12 stops in their looped itinerary all within two days.

Open to all riders and motorcycles from scooters to big bikes, Bohol Loop 2023 riders in solo, tandem, trio or bike groups have to take all the designated tourism stops and checkpoints within two days of enjoyable ride promoting road safety and exploring the beauty of Bohol and its geoparks.

Event organizers said Bohol’s allure to motorcycle loopers is notable as even with the P2,500 registration, they have to close it after a few days as the registrants have reached the maximum.

The Bohol Loop 2023 registration already includes an event kit including a raffle entry for a brand new 2023 Kawasaki KLX 150 dirt bike, a Bohol Loop (BL) tshirt, BL vest, BL balaclava, BL riders ID, BL sticker and a Castrol Motorcycle engine oil.

For those who can finish the loop, they can get a BL finishers long-sleeves, BL finishers sticker, BL finishers certificate and BL finisher’s medal.

To make a certified finish, however, riders have to get their bikes checked-in on the 17th, before riding off in the dawn of March 18.

During the rides, they start after scanning the start QR Code in the Tagbilaran City Airport Start Grid, and then head off to checkpoint 1 at the Anda Tourist Information Center where they are required to make a selfie or group picture at Anda White Beach and then scan the QR Code there.

Then they speed off to checkpoint 2 at the Getafe Municipal Hall, approximately 1:30 minutes across Bohol, where they are required to scan a QR Code before jumping off again to the Chocolate Hills Complex for checkpoint 3.

There, they are required to take a selfie or group picture at Chocolate Hills Viewpoint, Scan the QR Code, and then take
Checkpoint 4 at the Tarsier Conservation Area in Bilar, where a selfie or group picture is again required.

From there, the next checkpoint is at Baclayon Church, where a selfie and or group picture suffices as proof of completing the stop.
Then, the next checkpoint is at Alona Beach, where a selfie or group picture there is already a pass.

From Alona, checkpoint 7 is at St. Augustine Parish Church in Panglao, where a required selfie or group picture is enough proof of completing the checkpoint.

From there, they have to go to checkpoint 8 at the Loon Municipal Hall, where one has to scan the QR Code, and then off to Checkpoint 9 at the Trinidad Municipal Hall where a QR Code needs to be scanned again.

At checkpoint 10 at the Bilar Man-Made Forest, where a selfie or group picture is enough proof of completion, and then to checkpoint 11 at the Sikatuna Mirror of the World where a selfie or group picture is required.

From there, it is a leisurely coast to Tagbilaran City Finish Grid, where riders have to Scan the Finish QR Code.

As one finishes, he has to show all required scanned QR codes, selfies and groufies in all required stops proving the completion of the 11 checkpoints. (RAHC/PIA7 Bohol)
