Las Piñas celebrates 28th cityhood, 116th anniversary

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The celebration of the Las Piñas City Government's 26th cityhood and 116th year of establishment has been described as "colorful" with activities and programs that made residents appreciate more the rich history of their city.

Mayor Imelda "Mel" T. Aguilar led the various activities carried out on Monday, March 27. These include health and wellness programs at the Verdant covered court, free laboratory tests at FBS, cholesterol and blood typing, HIV screening, nutrition education, dental services, immunization for toddlers aged 0 to 59 months old, pneumonia vaccines for senior citizens, family planning and chest x-ray.

Aside from health and wellness, other programs were also prepared including the cityhood mega job fair at Robinsons Place.

The mayor further announced that the local government will also conduct services to receive applications and renew green card holders.

Mayor Aguilar added that there will be free vaccines and deworming for pet cats and dogs, while there will be distribution of free seedlings and fertilizers.

Also featured in the celebration is the "Kasalang Bayan" (mass wedding) prepared by the local government on March 31. (PIA-NCR)
