KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here has called on the public to help prevent grass fires this dry season.
SFO1 Rodrigo Peralta Jr. made the appeal on Friday after BFP-Koronadal recorded 9 fire incidents for the month of March.
These fire incidents included grass fires, electrical post fires and a residential fire.
He urged residents, especially landowners and farmers to avoid burning their garbage.
During summer, the risk of grass fire triggered by intentional burning of dried leaves or reckless disposal of cigarettes is high, the official added. (PIA 12)
