QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- To usher the beginning of Holy Week or Semana Santa among Catholics, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged those of the faith to become "better agents of change" by getting to know the Lord Jesus Christ more, personally.

In the President's message, Marcos said that although it is difficult to understand the message of salvation and eternal life, it always remains very significant.

"I urge all of us now to make this promise personally: Let it stir in each of us the desire to know Jesus Christ more so that we may become better agents of change and conveyors of truth wherever we go," said Marcos.

And while Filipinos mourn and reflect on the impact of the death and suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ, the President said that "it is inevitable that our thoughts will gravitate to the events and challenges of recent years."

The President also called on Filipinos to focus their thoughts and actions on the life of the Lord and the valuable influence he has given to the faithful. (PIA-NCR)
