Dgte school board sets P19.3M for CVIRAA, school bldg funds

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, March 29 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City Local School Board has approved the supplemental budget of P3 million for the 2023 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA).

The local school board also endorsed an additional budget of P16.3 million for public school buildings.

Specifically, P3 million was approved as supplemental budget for CVIRAA for the expenses that will be incurred during the participation of the Division of Dumaguete to the regional meet in Carcar City.

Meanwhile, P7 million has been allocated for the completion of the Technical Vocational School Building in Brgy. Batinguel and P9.3 million additional budget for the school buildings and classrooms in Calindagan Elementary School, Camanjac National High School, and Cantil-e Elementary School.

Previously, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, through the school board, already approved P63.2 million worth of infrastructure projects charged to the Special Education Fund for the eight public schools to address their immediate needs.

These include the two-storey, eight classroom school building and improvement of covered stage for Cadawinonan Elementary School amounting to P 12.5 million; construction of the two-storey, two classroom school building and completion of two-storey, two classrooms school building for Junob National High School in the amount of P4.2 million; another two-storey, eight classroom school building for North City Elementary School at P11.9 million; and three-storey, six classroom school building and completion of two-storey two classroom school building for Camanjac National High School amounting to P10.6 million. 

Some P9 million for six classroom school building for Cantil-e Elementary School, and two-storey two classroom school building for Calindagan Elementary School at P1.8 million were also included in the allocation. 

The South City Elementary School will have P11.9 million for eight classrooms and the electrical upgrade for the Dumaguete City National High School amounting to P1 million. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO)
