MANILA, (PIA) -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will remain on heightened alert until the second Sunday of May.
This was emphasized by NCRPO chief PMaj. Gen. Edgar Okubo as part of the adjustment after the long vacation this Holy Week.
"The entire NCRPO is on heightened alert and we will implement it until the month of May, maybe until the second week of the month of May... Our deployment is continuous because there are many holidays, including May 1 which is a big Labor Day. Day," said Okubo.
While on heightened alert, only 5 percent of the police force is allowed to go on leave.
The NCRPO has not received any threats and the deployment of the police continues, especially now that Metro Manila is returning in large numbers.
Okubo also expressed satisfaction that the commemoration of Semana Santa was "generally peaceful."
Meanwhile, Okubo announced that all police districts will have a command center and its viewing will be in the NCRPO. Here you can see the movement of the public and the response of the police to crime and complaints.
The command centers are expected to be completed within two to three months. (PIA-NCR)
