Transport association in Libungan receives livelihood aid from DOLE

LIBUNGAN, Cotabato Province (PIA) – A local trasportation service provider here, recently received livelihood kits from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12. 

In accordance with its efforts to empower local communities and promote entrepreneurship, DOLE 12, in partnership with Gumaga barangay local government unit, distributed Kabuhayan kits to 60 members of the Libungan Payong-Payong Association on May 15.

The Libungan Payong-Payong Association, a provider of pedalled transportation service in the locality, received essential tools and jigs for their motor parts and service center project.

The assistance, which was handed under DOLE’s Kabuhayan Program, aims to equip individuals and organizations with the necessary resources to start or improve their livelihood initiatives.

DOLE 12 Assistant Regional Director Arlene R. Bisnon and Provincial Director Marjorie P. Latoja, led the turnover of the entrepreneurial support.  

The occasion was graced by Libungan Mayor Angel Rose L. Cuan, Gumaga Punong Barangay Jose B. Diaz, and Libungan PESO Manager Eddie Vicente.

In her messaage to the beneficiaries, ARD Bisnon emphasized the importance of community collaboration. She also expressed her confidence in the association’s ability to transform their project into a thriving enterprise. 

The local government plays a crucial role in supporting and sustaining livelihood initiatives, and their involvement in this event demonstrates their commitment to empowering their constituents.

With access to necessary tools and jigs, the association’s members are now better equipped to establish a successful motor parts and service center, contributing to the economic progress of Barangay Gumaga and the wider Libungan municipality. (With DOLE 12 Technical Services)
