KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA)—President Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos, Jr. highlighted the role of convergence and unity among government agencies and private sectors in promoting progress, especially in disadvantaged areas.
In his speech during the distribution of various government assistance in the region today at the South Cotabato Cultural Gymnasium, he pointed out the efforts of different government agencies to help uplift the lives of Filipinos and ensure that no one is left behind, especially during this time of the pandemic.
Among the government agencies that extended their assistance were the Department of Agriculture, which provided consumers with affordable basic commodities through their Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which allocated a total of P20 million for its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program.
The Department of Trade and Industry also distributed over P4 million worth of assistance to beneficiaries of the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program and Shared Service Facilities projects.
Moreover, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) handed over P13 million worth of assistance to beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD), DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), and Government Internship Program (GIP). The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration also gave P400,000 worth of assistance to overseas Filipino workers through its Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay (BPBH) program.
Further, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority distributed over P12 million worth of assistance to its scholars and beneficiaries of various programs.
“Nagsasanib pwersa lahat ng mga may kayang tumulong sa pamahalaan, kahit sa mga pribadong sektor, yan po ang ating naging panaginip, naging pangarap. Ito po ay nasa kamay na natin na gawing totoo ang ating dating pinapangarap,” the president stated.
President Marcos, Jr. assured that the government will be steadfast in finding solutions to the problems of the citizenry. (SJDM/PIA-12)
