6,800 tricycle drivers get food aid from Koronadal City Government, DSWD

Nearly 7,000 tricycle drivers in Koronadal City will receive family food packs from the city government and DSWD XII IN A 10-day food aid distribution. Recipients are drivers who have approved motorized transport operator's permit.

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- A total of 6,804 legitimate tricycle drivers in Koronadal City are set to receive family food packs from the city government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
 
Joy Placer, head of the City Traffic Management Office (CTMO), told Philippine Information Agency “the assistance aims to help tricycle drivers affected by the rise in prices of petroleum and the COVID-19 pandemic.”
 
Beneficiaries are only those with approved motorized tricycle operator’s permits (MTOP), he added.
 
Mayor Eliordo Ogena and DSWD XII Regional Director Loreto Cabaya Jr., led the distribution of the food packs at the Rizal Park, Tuesday for 494 trike drivers in Barangays Zone 1 and Zone 4.
 
Succeeding food pack distribution operations are scheduled as follows:
 
July 5  at Rizal Park for 603 drivers in Barangays  Zone 2 and Zone 3;
July 6 at  Rizal Park for 1,131 drivers in Morales, Paraiso, and Sto. Niño;
July 7 at Rizal Park for 1,080 drivers in General Paulino Santos;
July 11 at Rotonda Gym for  559 drivers in Rotonda, Mabini, New Pangasinan, and Namnama;
July 12 at Concepcion Gym for 563 drivers in San Roque, Magsaysay, and Concepcion;C
July 13 at Carpenter Hill for 768 drivers in Saravia, Carpenter Hill, and San Isidro;
July 14 at Sta. Cruz Gym for 574 drivers in Assumption, Mambucal, and Sta. Cruz;
July 17 at Caloocan Gym for 577 drivers in San Jose, Caloocan, and Avanceña; and
July 19  at Topland Gym for 455 drivers in Cacub, Topland, and Esperanza.
 
Each family food pack contains 6 kilograms of rice, 4 cans of canned tuna, 2 cans of sardines, 4 cans of corned beef, 3-in-1 coffee, and ready-to-eat cereals.
